Basecamp Maasai Mara

Base Camp in the Masai Mara invites guests to immerse themselves into Masai culture as they settle into a safari setting that offers both exceptional wildlife experiences and a chance to experience the rich cultural history of the region and its people.

The camp is set up amidst trees and surrounding bush along the Talek River, offering eco-friendly, luxury tented accommodation. Dining takes place in a spacious communal tent set up right next to the Talek River offering amazing views over the grassy plains. There is the option for a private dining experience on the camp’s viewing deck, giving guests the chance to sit in near silence, the sound of the bush and flowing waters accompanying their meal.

Located next to Base Camp is the Enjoolata Awareness Centre where Masai are on hand to share with and educate visitors on local culture and the history of the region. Guests can also experience nearby community initiatives such as the Masai Beading Centre where local talent is applauded and promoted. Talek town is a short walk from the Camp and here guests can enjoy a cultural visit, led by a local guide.
